Scene: My apartment as the boys, John and Topher, are getting ready for a night of drinking in honor of St. Patrick's day.
John: Who's this white guy in this photo with your mom and niece?
Me: That's my step dad Steve.
John: Is your mom robbing the cradle? He looks younger than your her.
Me: Yes, he's a few years younger than my mom.
End Scene.
Though not a cougar, my mom is indeed married to a younger man. She must know how to work it.

It's Official, my Mom is cooler than I am
It took me a long time to realize this, but my Mom is super cool. I never knew she had it in her until I was a full fledged adult. At the age of 26, I can only hope that I'll be as awesome as she is at her age. I was such a wretched teenager and young adult, but over time and for lack of a better term, I've kind of turned into a Momma's boi. This blog is dedicated to my Mom and all the other Mom's out there. So let's get things started, with the first of many stories and anecdotes.
Last Friday I went to see my newest obsession Lady Gaga with two of my boys. My Mom called me around 9 something AM to check in and say hi. The boys and I were up and motivating to hit up brunch. Below is a brief excerpt of our conversation.
Mom: So what did you do last night?
Me: I saw Lady Gaga and it was so much fun.
Mom: Is she the one that sings that let's dance song.
Me: You mean Just Dance?
Mom: Yeah, that one
Me: Mom, you know who Lady Gaga is?
mom: Of course i do
me: All right Mom, how does the song go?
mom: I've had a little bit too much. oh oh oh oh (yes, she not only know who she is, but can sing part of the song to the beat of the song no less)
At this point, she was on speaker phone and I was in hysterics. John, who was also in the room, was convulsing and trying not to laugh out loud for her to hear. She then proceeds to list all the pop music stations and tells me that although she is 57, she is in her 30s at heart. Excuse me and you go girl!
This incident is what inspired me to start this blog in the first place.
